CANART is an institute of modern art, started on October 25th 2008 in Shanghai, it was established with the intention of opening a cultural dialogue between the Orient and the Occident.
The principal of CANART is to develop and promote contemporary art in China, as well as creating platform of exchange between Chinese artists and other international Artists.
CANART not only works directly with visual artists, performance artists, experimental artists and all the disciplines of avant-garde art, it also promotes modern art though new technology, exhibiting and managing art projects.
CANART was formed with three members from three different continents. The management of the European section is done by Gallery TRIBECA in Madrid.
TRIBECA are responsible for selecting and commissioning European art with the aim of combining this with the promotion of those artists from Asia.
